Welcome to the Troop 56 Website (www.troop56.org)

Welcome to Troop 56!

Troop 56 was founded 11/12/13 and formally expanded its program to include girls in January 2023.

Troop 56 is carrying on the tradition of excellence of both, Cub Scout Pack 56, and the legendary former *Troop 22, with an emphasis on the outdoors.

The Troop embodies the ideals of Scouting and of Lusher Charter School now known as "The Willow School:

Project Pride
Be Kind
Be Responsible
Respect People and Property
Do Your Best Work

Scout Oath
On my honor, I will do my best. To do my duty to god and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

Scout Law
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Troop 56 motto
Help the other fellow

*Troop 22 was a Troop at Lusher Charter School in the 50s and 60s that did extraordinary things including sailing to Cuba and was known as a PineTree Troop which meant they could make and break camp in 10 minutes.

Pinewood Derby update

Posted on Jan 29 2026 - 12:33pm

Start your engines for fun.  Just a reminder that check in is tomorrow from 4-5 pm.  You must register your car during this window, if you intend to race on Saturday.  Normally, you should enter through the Pine Street gate and come check in on the morning meeting stairs.  However, there was a pipe break on Pine Street (as the Willow families are all too well aware) that has closed the street.  While the street may be fixed by Friday.   If that is not the case, the plan will be to enter through the Willow Street gate And then snake around the right hand side of the school to the check in location.

Happy Holidays and I hope you are enjoying winterish break! For those who attended winterish camp, most of your earnings have been updated with a few exceptions that Mr. Egan is working on to manually update - an advancement report has been sent to all scouts so you can work on those partials during the holidays. Swampbase RSVP CLOSES on January 16 with all payments due - remember this is one of only 4 high adventure Scouting America bases - it is a big deal and there are no late registrations. I will be giving up any unregistered spots! Our holiday court of honor and celebration will be on January 10 - details will be available after the new year - plan for a mid day event. Also two merit badge colleges have been added to the calendar for your awareness.
